We kept hearing rave reviews from our friends about Ms. Grace and her piano program. At the time, we were with another music school. However, we decided to transition to OCP after seeing so many of their friends that started with Ms.Grace surpass our kids in their knowledge and piano playing skills. I am so glad we decided to transfer all our kids to OC Piano Program. Ms. Grace has such a gift explaining difficult concepts in a straightforward manner and connects easily with children. She is also empathetic and makes the children feel heard. The recitals and competitions are professionally done and beautifully captured with their event photographer. All the other teachers have such a great rapport with their students and its fantastic as a parent to see all the kids shine on the stage.

Our journey with the OC Piano Program has been extraordinary, and I am thrilled to share our experience. My daughter began formal private piano lessons with Ms. Grace as a kindergartner. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed, catering to the developmental needs of young learners while instilling a solid foundation in piano playing. One of the most rewarding aspects has been witnessing my daughter's progress over time. She can now play complex pieces with the weekly support of her wonderful teacher Ms. Grace. Furthermore, the program fosters a sense of community among students, providing opportunities for recitals and collaborations. We were on their wait-list for 2 months before we got a call about an opening. We said yes right away because we knew 3 friends that were already part of the program. One lesson with Ms. Grace and you'll see why she's the real deal. She's highly personable and the kids immediately felt at ease with her in the home. They now run outside to greet her when she arrives! And by the way, they don't do this for anyone else. What I like most is that she doesn't just teach the kids what to do. She covers the rules and language of music and has them apply it to their songs all by themselves. As the weeks progress, the signs and symbols become more meaningful and they get more independent in playing the piano.

Our son had been at another music school for over a year. His piano teacher kept changing and we could see he wasn't progressing. Frustrated, we asked family friends for a referral and OC Piano kept coming up as highly recommended. We could tell a big difference after just a few lessons. He was playing with both hands and learning songs that he enjoyed instead of just children's classics like Twinkle Twinkle and Mary Had A Little Lamb. We are excited to see how far he continues to progress.

Our two boys have been enrolled at OCP for over 2 years now. In that time, they have gone from complete beginners with no experience to skilled pianists that impress everyone with their Coldplay, Imagine Dragons and One Republic piano arrangements. We went oversees one summer and the kids saw a piano in the lobby and started playing to entertain themselves and they drew a massive crowd. We kept hearing how amazed everyone was given their young age. We've even had guests come over to our house and thought that our children playing the piano in the next room was a recording. As much as I would like to take credit for their music talents, I know it is all due to their incredible teacher. Ms. Grace truly is a gem for the community. She engages her students with material they love and inspires them to tackle harder challenges. The recitals are always excellent and I have seen a big improvement with my youngest in public performing. My advice is to be patient with the waitlist. They are so worth it and no time has been wasted.

He has not just mastered his notes but has learned music theory, style, and technicalities needed for advanced piano. He loves learning through fun songs (as opposed to only piano textbooks) and has enjoyed learning Disney and pop songs. Ms. Grace is the perfect balance of rigidity and compassion; you can see how she applies her early childhood education background to her piano program to help children thrive. We look forward to watching our son continue to grow--both in technique and in his love for piano!
