OCP Curriculum
The research is clear: learning to play the piano develops the child’s brain. In fact, brain scans show a significant increase in the size, activity & function of brain structures in children that enrolled in quality music lessons.
Our master educators offer an individualized, student-centered path to learning. Our lesson plans, worksheets & competency checks are designed to improve the students’ memory, speed & learning capacity.
Weekly Lesson Plans
Our teaching standards are high. OC Piano students are able to read, interpret, and play music within their level with confidence.
Students learn to read music notes and expand their music theory vocabulary. In addition, they work on proper form, technique and performance skills.
Our elite training shows results in as little as 3 weeks! Parents are always amazed to find their little ones performing songs within just a few lessons.
Annual Recitals & Competitions
Our piano students are expected to master & memorize their songs for their piano recital. Each time our students’ participate in our annual recitals, they play more confidently and flawlessly. Their progress is a testament to the strength of our program.
In addition to earning their medals, students compete to earn our prestigious 5 Star Award Of Excellence for Best Performance Trophy in their age division.
- Division I: Age 6
- Division II: Ages 7-8
- Division III: Ages 9-10
- Division IV: Ages 11-12
- Division V: Ages 13+
We also offer a competitive track for our naturally talented and driven students through the “Southern California Young Pianist Competition.” This event is strictly invitation only and selected students may choose a performance solo which best reflects their musicality and artistic personality.

Our master educators are proud to offer both virtual and in-home piano lessons. Our families can also opt for a hybrid structure, which allows for the quality, convenience & affordability services.
Yes, students will need their own piano or keyboard at home to practice. We recommend beginner students start with an inexpensive digital piano or keyboard. Once the child shows serious interest and skill, families may choose to upgrade to a standard upright or grand piano.

We offer 30-minute piano lessons for our beginner-intermediate students & 45-minute piano lessons for our intermediate-advanced students. For students on the MTAC & RCM track, 45-minute weekly lessons are necessary to prepare for the examinations.
OC Piano Program offers an open door policy and families are free to stop lessons at any time. Please note that lesson cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a forfeited lesson fee. In addition, students that leave the program will no longer be eligible to re-apply in the future.
At the minimum, acoustic pianos should be tuned yearly. Annual maintenance not only improves the quality of sound, but also protects the internal components. you can click here for our recommended list of piano tuners.
